BZP Nylon Insert Nuts - Type T

Our DIN985 Nylon insert nuts are a popular form of locking nut. They are also referred to as a nyloc, nylon-insert lock nut, polymer-insert lock nut, or elastic stop nuts. With these nuts the nylon insert wraps around the threads of the bolt or stud and locks the nut in place. This gives a nylon lock nut a distinct advantage over a lock washer when the bolt or threaded stud is subject to vibration, as the nylon lock nut is much less affected by vibration.

We supply Nylon Insert nuts in a variety of grades, types and finishes such as BZP, Galvanised, A2 Stainless, A4 Stainless. We also supply two types the Type T and the Type P. Type T is the most common version and is also known as a Thin Nylon Insert nut as the height of the nut is less than the Type P which is a thicker nut overall.

If you are using high grade bolting such as Cap Head Socket Screws or 10.9 Grade Bolts we would recommend these are used in conjunction with our Grade 10 Nylon Insert Nuts.
