This FixFirm Crack Stitching Helical Bar system is designed for the stabilisation of cracked masonry.

By chasing out the mortar either side of the crack at 300–450mm vertical spacing and grouting in the stainless helical bar with specialist resin the loads causing the cracking are redistributed along the masonry.

The Stainless Steel helical bar is available in the following options - B801-010 - 6x1000mm, B801-015 - 6x1500mm or B801-020 - 8x1000mm. Also sometimes known as crack stitching bar, helibar or twistbar.

The grout is supplied in a 3 litre tub which is mixed on site prior to use.

For ease of installation we recommend using with our Z661-100 Pointing & Grouting Gun which comes complete with suitable nozzles for injecting the grout into the mortar joints

• 3 litres of grout is required to install 10 metres of 6mm helical bar in normal circumstances

This is an excellent system for the replacement of wall ties, it is quick, requires no resin, minimal dust and making good to do. It is installed by simply drilling a 5.0–6.5mm (depending on the substrate) and driving the tie in using the SDS Fitting Power Driver.

Installation is simple; you just drill a 6mm pilot hole into the existing wall and drive the tie into it using the hand support tool and a hammer.
